Cacoosing District Leadership
Cacoosing District News
Life to EagleMonthly Life to Eagle packet reviews are going to be held the second Thursday of each month at 7:30 PM at the District Roundtable held at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Sinking Spring. These conferences are for Scouts who recently made Life Rank and are preparing to earn the rank of Eagle Scout. The packet will be reviewed with the Scout and his parent at this conference. Reviews at other times may be arranged by special appointment. For further questions or for special scheduling, please contact Leon Grim at 610-373-1208. Are You Trained?Cub Scout leaders are considered trained when they have completed "This is Scouting" and the Cub Scout Leader Specific Training for their position and Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation. Scoutmasters and Assistant Scoutmasters are considered trained when they have completed "This Is Scouting", Scoutmaster and Assistant Scoutmaster Leader Specific Training, and Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills. Troop Committee members are considered trained when the have completed "This Is Scouting" and the Troop Committee Challenge and their Leader Specific Training. Register Those New Cub Scouts and LeadersThe BSA insurance program does not cover youth and adults until they are properly registered. Adult applications require two signatures, the unit chairman and the chartered organization representative or institutional head. Registrations cannot be processed without them. Applications received without proper signatures will be returned to the appropriate unit leader. Membership – It is Always Time to Sell the AdventureThis year’s school recruitment went well throughout most of the district. The unit leaders and commissioners deserve a big thank you for doing a great job. The recruitment effort does not stop with School Night. Adults should talk to friends with children of scouting age. Talk about Scouting at church, social groups and work. Make your love of Scouting known. Encourage your Scouts to invite friends to join. There is a lot of competition for children’s time and if we don’t sell it year round a lot of boys will miss the chance to belong to one of the best youth organizations available. The truth is, it can take up to six invitations before a boy will join. Don’t give up the challenge, the results are worth it. Recruit that Boy Today! Cacoosing District Events
