Troop Leadership Training - Troop Leadership Training (TLT) is available for Troop youth leadership. TLT is a unit-level training session for all new youth leaders. TLT is designed to introduce the youth leader to leadership and give him the initial skills to be an effective leader. TLT should be conducted after the election of new Scout leadership. Adults are encouraged to attend this training in order to see the program in its entirety. Every Youth Deserves A Trained LeaderCub Scout leaders are considered trained when they have completed: This is
Scouting Online Training, Youth Protection Online Training, Fast Start Online Training and the
Cub Scout Leader Specific Training for their position. The online training
should be taken within 48 hours of becoming a leader. We also highly recommend
Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation Training (BALOO). Scoutmasters and Assistant Scoutmasters are considered trained when they have
completed: "This is Scouting" Online Training (replaced New Leader Essentials), Youth Protection Online Training, Scoutmaster
and Assistant Scoutmaster Leader Specific Training, and Introduction to Outdoor
Leader Skills. Troop Committee members are considered trained when they have
completed "This Is Scouting" and the Troop Committee Challenge as their
Leader Specific Training. Our goal is every leader 100% trained! National Camping AwardBoy Scout troops can earn this award based on the number of days and nights they spend camping. Forms are available at the Council Service Center. Summer Time Pack AwardYour pack qualifies for the Summer Time Pack Award if they do an activity in the months of June, July and or August. Scoutmaster Leader Specific Training - Scoutmaster Leader Specific Training is one of the requirements a Boy Scout leader must complete to be considered "Trained." Black Rock District will host this training for the Hawk Mountain Council on February 18 and May 19, 2012. The location for this training will be at Troop Leadership Training - Troop Leadership Training (TLT) is available for Troop youth leadership. Den Chief Training - The Den Chief is a critical member of the Cub Scout leadership team. To be successful, a Den Chief must realize how important his job really is to the Pack. Den Chief Training is intended to build enthusiasm for the job, develop high morals, and teach the skills the Den Chief will need to be successful. This half day training combines fun and enjoyment with an excellent character building experience. Participants will learn leadership, organization, and most importantly, how to work with Cub Scouts. Den Chief Training will be sponsored by the Black Rock District and take place on: April 28, 2012 - Cub Scout Leader Specific Training - will be offered at Roundtables beginning at 7:00 PM (promptly) and concluding by 9:00 PM. Training at Roundtables is free. This training is also available at your unit location if you have 5 or more leaders committed to attend from your unit or surrounding units. Note for Cub Scout Leaders: If you have already received your basic cub scout leader training and you need to update it for a new position, you only need to attend the training portion for that specific position. You do not need to repeat Part 1 of Cub Scout Specific Leader training (Intro to Cub Scouting and How we have fun). Roundtables - are held monthly from September through May of each year.
