HIGH ADVENTURE

Hawk Mountain Council - 2009 Philmont Trek

Philmont PatchIf you would like the opportunity of hiking the trails of Philmont Scout Ranch with a council contingent, this expedition is definitely for you. Hawk Mountain Council is sending this special contingent to Philmont Scout Ranch in Cimarron, New Mexico from June 27 – July 10, 2009. Scouts must be 14 years old by January 1, 2009 or completed 8th grade and be 13 years old by June 27, 2009 to participate in the Philmont trek.

Tooth Of TimePhilmont Scout Ranch contains 330 miles of challenging trails throughout the 137,493 acres of the Majestic Sangre de Cristo Mountains. Since 1939 more than 750,000 Scouts and Scouters have experienced this mountain top experience with a lasting pleasant memory and always longing to return again to Philmont. We will travel round trip from Pennsylvania to New Mexico via commercial air transportation. A completed application and deposit is required to secure a position on the contingent. Applications have been sent to every Troop Scoutmaster, Committee Chairperson and every Crew Advisor and Committee Chairperson.
