Protecting God's Children - Youth Protection Training Session

Protecting God’s Children - Youth Protection Training Session

Saturday, October 19, 2013  - Hawk Mountain Scout Reservation – S.T.E.M. Building - 9:00 am to Noon

The Hawk Mountain Council’s Catholic Committee on Scouting will hold a “Protecting God's Children - Youth Protection” training session on October 19, 2013 for all Cub Packs and Troops who have a Catholic Church as their Chartered Partner.  This training is mandatory for any adults over the age of 18 who are active with youth in the Catholic Parish or in Youth Programs within the parish, (such as sports and scouting).  This training session is mandated; by the Diocesan and is only required to be completed one time.  There is no cost associated with this training, so plan accordingly and get your new parents or leaders to take this training now!  An additional “Protecting God’s Children Training Session” is being planned for sometime in January 2014.

This training session is open to any Scouting unit in the Hawk Mountain Council.

Note:  This training is a supplement, NOT a replacement, to the BSA Youth Protection Training.  Simply, if your pack or troop is part of a Catholic Church, you need both trainings in order to meet BSA and Diocese requirements.

In order to get the proper materials needed for this training, please RSVP to Randy Bjorken, or 610-375-6229.  Include your name or names of leaders attending, phone #(s), parish name, and Pack or Troop affiliations.
