NATIONAL YOUTH LEADERSHIP TRAINING
June 12-17, 2010 - HMSR
"It's WoodBadge for Youth Leaders !"
Your unit deserves not only well-trained
adult leaders, but also well-trained youth leaders. National Youth
Leadership Training (NYLT), gives your unit's youth the tools they need for effective
leadership.
NYLT is an intensive six day training experience for Senior Patrol Leaders, Assistant Senior Patrol leaders, Patrol
leaders and other youth leaders as well as prospective troop leaders and venture crew leadership. The course uses
a systematic approach to teach contemporary leadership skills, with an emphasis on both theory and practical
application in a Scouting context. For the Scout who desires to be a better and more effective leader NYLT is an
unparalleled opportunity.
We want to train scouts who want to learn! -- Because NYLT is an intensive training experience, participants should possess sufficient maturity, judgment
and leadership potential to successfully complete the program. Each participant will be evaluated during the
course on their Attitude (Be), Knowledge (Know) and Skills (Do). Parental AND Scoutmaster approval is required to attend.
Cost for the week-long training is $200.00 if paid before April 15 (a
$50 late registration fee is added after April 15). Balance due by
May 31, 210. Many units budget this training or subsidize the cost
of their youths' attending.
